We are passionate about creating a crew of intentional and honest brands that are helping change fashion for good in tangle ways. As such, we will consider members with thoughtfulness and vigilance.
To be considered, you must be incorporated with at least three months of demonstrated sales. We’re also keepin’ it local, so the Crowd is reserved exclusively for companies with at least 50 percent ownership (living and working) in Austin, Texas.
Who can apply: Ethical brands selling fashion, accessories and textile goods.
In addition to these base criteria, please ensure your brand adheres to at least two of the following ethical, sustainable and conscious practices before applying:
Traceable - You know where your stuff is made. You can demonstrate supply chain transparency and provide us with information on your factories, materials, and shipping as well as your worker compensation and benefits models, as requested.
Eco - You’re 100% upcycled / recycled / vintage / second-hand or you’re prioritizing eco-friendly fabrics (exg. GOTS certified organic cotton, hemp, Lenzing Tencel) and can demonstrate how they’ve reduced your carbon footprint.
Artisan-made - You’re helping to preserve handmade traditions and slow processes that would become obsolete without demand.
Social Business - Your brand is helping to support financial independence, empowerment, and poverty alleviation among workers in a way that provides lasting and long term development. By providing employment, you are improving the livelihood of workers who may otherwise have been overlooked or undervalued. We will prioritize brands working with women, people of color and at-risk families and communities.
Certified - You have any of the following recognized ethical certifications or belong to one of these member organizations: Fair Trade; Fair Trade USA; WFTO; FWF; B Corp; Made in USA (not final assembly); GOTS; Oeko-Tex; Ethical Trading Initiative; Sustainable Apparel Coalition; USDA Certified Organic Materials (Don’t see one listed? Flag it in your application)
Handmade - 100% in the US and employing at a living wage standard.
